What does a mudslide taste like?

A mudslide tastes like a boozy chocolate coffee milkshake: vodka, coffee liqueur and Irish cream, often blended with ice cream and drizzled with chocolate syrup.

Mudslide

a boozy chocolate milkshake

A mudslide is vodka, coffee liqueur and Irish cream liqueur like Baileys, either shaken over ice with cream or blended with ice cream into a frozen shake. Chain restaurants usually go the frozen route, with chocolate syrup swirled inside the glass. It tastes like dessert: creamy, very sweet, with coffee, chocolate and vanilla, and barely any alcohol taste. That makes it easy to forget there are three kinds of booze in it. It's basically a White Russian that went all in on dessert.

Where you’ll see it

On chain restaurant, beach bar and dessert drink menus, often frozen with whipped cream and chocolate drizzle. Some bars serve a shaken version on the rocks.

Order it if you want dessert and a drink in the same glass.
