A jagged-leaf Japanese herb in the mint family, green or purple, that tastes somewhere between mint, basil and anise.
What it tastes like
Bright, minty and herbal with a cinnamon-anise twist and a little citrus. Very refreshing next to rich fish.

Sushi and sashimi plates, hand rolls with ume, tempura, salads, and muddled into cocktails and sodas.
